The silver jubilee function of Art of Living was celebrated on 17th, 18th and 19th Feb, 2006, at Jakkur Aerodrome, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It was my fortune that I got a VIP pass from one of my friend and I was able to attend this occasion by the blessings of Guruji. The occasion for me was one of the memorable and megaevent of my lifetime.

My state of my mind was different from normal after the Sudarshan Kriya and the Meditation. The chanting of the word "Om", which has all the vibration of the Universe by the millions of people attending the mass meditation is still echoing my ears. I had a feeling that I was communicating with the stars of the universe and my body was floating in air. My mind and body was refreshed and rejuvenated. I cannot express that happiness and peace I had after that meditation. Still the sight of ever smiling Guruji and the stage with lighting is retained fresh in my mind.

Also the remarkable speech by the honourable president Dr. A. P. J Abdul Kalam relating how science and spirituality go hand in hand in India tantalized my young spirit. The speech given by former Prime Minister L. Advani quoting "The earth is flat" was really powerful, making India (Bangalore, Karnataka) proud to host such a event for promoting 5H values in the world. Another mind blowing part of the function was the 3000 musician playing classical music (Karnatik Music). The song sung by SPB and Janaki were entertaining one for all classical music lovers. It was altogether a world gathering for promoting peace and harmony in the world.

Linux 2.6 kernel modeled in UML 2.0

The Software Revolution has created a complete, detailed model of the 2.6 Linux kernel using UML 2.0 (unified modeling language). The model comprises interlinked scalable vector graphics and text documents modeling all major subsystems of the kernel, including all source code fields and functions.

The Software Revolution says its Linux kernel model is the most complete and detailed model yet made of the Linux kernel, and that it meets or exceeds the requirements for UML 2.0.

The Software Revolution's Linux model uses scalable vector graphics (SVG) for control flow graphs, structure charts, state machines, action diagrams, data element tables, call charts, complexity metrics, business rules, decision tables, and data elements. The graphics contain hyperlinks to related lines and functions in the source code listings. The source listings are also heavily indexed and cross-linked.

Sun Delivers OpenSolaris Code To Developers

Sun Microsystems Inc. on Tuesday launched the OpenSolaris project, releasing millions of lines of code of the Solaris operating system to the open-source community.
OpenSolaris is based on a subset of the source code for Solaris, which powers computer servers used to run business applications. While strong technologically, Solaris has loss market share to Linux, a free, open-source operating system that has grown in popularity within enterprises.
Linux, like Solaris, is based on the Unix operating system. Proprietary systems based on Unix have been hit hardest in the market by the growing use of the open-source OS. Sun, which was the most successful Unix-based systems vendor during the dot-com era, was hurt the most by Linux, experts say.
Experts, however, expect OpenSolaris to benefit existing Solaris customers, and have little, if any, impact on the popularity of Linux.
"This really isn't aimed at taking over the Linux community or open source," Gordon Haff, analyst for market researcher Illuminata Inc., said. "This is a way to get people who use and develop on Solaris engaged with each other and with Sun's engineers. The idea is to rekindle the excitement in using Sun's products.
"It's more going back to Sun's roots in some ways."
Long term, however, Sun would like to see OpenSolaris become an important open-source operating system, Haff said.
"(Sun) could regain some of the ground it's loss to Linux, but a lot of that is certainly speculative," Haff said.
Initially, Sun is releasing the core kernel, libraries and commands distributed with the commercially available Solaris OS. The Santa Clara, Calif., computer maker plans to release additional components of the platform later.
The major difference between Solaris and OpenSolaris is that the latter does not provide an end-user product or complete distribution. Instead, it's an open-source code base and software tools needed to develop applications with the code, and an infrastructure developers can use to communicate and share information.
The OpenSolaris community will provide support, and decisions within the project will be made independently from Sun's business. The company's management will not "exert undue influence within the OpenSolaris community," Sun said.
